Sussex Sustainability funds six interdisciplinary research projects
The Sussex Sustainability Research Programme (SSRP) Fund has completed its second call for proposals in December 2017 and has now made 6 full awards for funding. The projects bring together researchers from nine departments at the University of Sussex, the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS).
The awarded projects are investigating the trade-offs and synergies between the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .
A total of 13 high-calibre applications were received and the six awarded projects were selected by a review panel consisting of internal sustainability experts.
Awards were made to:
(Business and Management): Scoping the performance indicators and data architectures for sustainable supply chain development in forest communities.
This brings the total of SSRP funded projects to 19, with over £1.4 million invested.
SSRP Director Joseph Alcamo remarked: "These new projects will enhance our efforts in providing research that strongly supports global goals for sustainable development."
