Burns Day celebrated with "Ae Fond Kiss"

Robert Burns Day is celebrated today at the University by Eilidh Cormack singing "Ae Fond Kiss" in Gaelic.

Eilidh, a UofG alumna, currently works as an assistant on the Digital Archive of Scottish Gaelic (DASG) project. She was named Gaelic Ambassador of the Year at last year’s Royal National Mod, held in October.

She is accompanied by fiddle player Jack Smedley, who plays in the Scottish folk band RURA; Eilidh is a member of the band SIAN.

Their performance was filmed by the University’s social media team in the Bute Hall.
