We are recruiting new academic staff to the School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham at Assistant/ Associate Professor level.

Do you have excellent research ideas? Can you create and lead your own research group? Do you have a commitment to inspiring and engaging students in the study of chemistry?

If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you.

We also believe that every one of our staff can contribute to enhancing the diverse environment in which we work, and we are keen to hear what your contribution could be. We are as interested in your commitment to diversity and the future of chemistry as we are in your research and teaching. We are keen to appoint people not just based on their past achievements, but also on the potential they show for the future and we want to draw on the widest possible range of talents and backgrounds.

We believe that a diverse and supportive environment, bringing different perspectives to our work and allowing people to blossom is the best platform for cutting-edge research and excellent teaching. We are looking for brilliant chemists who are excited to embrace our approach and can contribute to our efforts to enhance the scientific, teaching and cultural aspects of our School. We are striving to promote a healthy work-life balance (for example, by implementing flexible or part-time working etc) and an atmosphere in which staff are confident to be themselves (for example, being openly LGBTQ+ or feeling confident to declare a disability within the School).

For these appointments we are open to all areas of research across the chemical sciences.

To apply, please complete our application form, include your CV and 2-page outline research proposal (up to 1000 words) describing what could be achieved in your first 5 years at Nottingham.

These posts will be offered on a full time, permanent basis.
