Assistant Professor

£36261 to £48677 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The Faculty of Science at the University of Nottingham is inviting applications for a teaching focused Assistant Professor to create, support and deliver excellent teaching materials associated with the Faculty’s newly developing degree and higher degree apprenticeship programmes; to contribute to curriculum development within own area of expertise; to collaborate with colleagues across all disciplines in the Faculty in the design of modules and programmes and to work as a member of the Faculty’s Apprenticeship Hub

Successful candidates will have:

  • A PhD in Maths or Science
  • A track record of delivering high quality teaching to undergraduate students
  • Particular expertise in learning technologies, including virtual learning environments and e-assessment tools
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

This is a permanent post which is due to start on 1 September 2019 and is full-time (36.25 hours per week). However applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part-time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.
