Programme Administrator (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for an Administrator to facilitate and support the Department of Biochemistry (Bioc) and the Cell and Molecular Biology Programme (CMB) within the CRUK Cambridge Centre (CRUK CC). This is a new role and will be based in the Department of Biochemistry in central Cambridge, with occasional local travel to other Programme partner locations.

Reporting to the Programme’s Science Communication Specialist the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support for Bioc and the CMB, providing clear communications, financial administration, budget management and the organization of Programme meetings and events. You will also be supporting Programme Leads within the framework of CRUK CC grant requirements and the Sanger Institute/Biochemistry governance structures.

To perform this role effectively you will join us with experience of working administratively with precision, accuracy and tact, together with absolute reliability with highly confidential (e.g. academically and clinically sensitive) information.

You will require excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively. You will also need to recognize and adapt to the differing needs in line with the requirements and objectives of the Programme partners. Ideally you will be educated to HND/HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience.

This position is initially for a period of two years.
