£36261 to £48677 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor in Accounting (Part-time) (Teaching Focused), which is based in the Accounting Division at Nottingham University Business School. The candidate appointed will be expected to contribute to teaching on the range of programmes offered by the School at undergraduate and postgraduate level and support professional development and executive education courses. They will also be required to make an appropriate contribution to administration.

Candidates should have a PhD (or be close to completion or have equivalent senior level education experience) in a relevant area together with teaching experience at HE level in relevant subjects, or a full professional accountancy/tax qualification. They should have excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in one or more of the following subject areas: financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation.

Members of the Division are expected to engage in subject, professional and pedagogical research as required for their role – supporting teaching and development activities, and disseminating knowledge to the wider academic community where relevant.

This part-time (18 hours per week) role is offered on a permanent contract. As working patterns may vary during the academic year, part-time appointees may need to be flexible with the hours they work from semester to semester and have the ability to fit outside commitments around the post.
