Professor in Midwifery

We are currently seeking applications for a Professor in Midwifery, in order to expand our capacity in research and postgraduate research supervision and to contribute to teaching, particularly in research methods at postgraduate level.

The School of Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham, one of the 4 Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation and allied health professions. The Schools mission is to provide excellent healthcare education and undertake outstanding research that inspires our students and staff to transform the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities and make an enlightened and valued contribution to society.

The School has strong relationships with partner and stakeholder organisations including statutory and non-governmental organisations.

The School’s research is highly rated by the Research Excellence Framework.

This post will be based in the Division of Midwifery and will hold managerial responsibilities within the School of Health Sciences and provide opportunities for developing research collaborations internationally. Applications are welcome from suitably experienced individuals whose research interests fall broadly within the area of Maternal Health and Wellbeing.

The successful candidate will have experience of doctoral supervision to completion, a nationally recognised reputation for excellence in research, an emerging international reputation and will be committed to supporting clinical academic careers. The successful candidate will have an established record of high-quality publications.

This is a full-time permanent role suitable as a first professorial appointment. The post-holder will join an established research group, working alongside an experienced professor and multidisciplinary research team.
