The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is committed to excellence in teaching and research across multidisciplinary programmes that incorporate language and communication, art, design and museology, and music. We are looking to appoint a Lecturer/Associate Professor in English education to join a team of researchers and lecturers whose expertise spans a range of areas relevant to the education context. The Key duties are to play a leading role in the subject specific Initial Teacher Education programmes, (PGCE, Teach First, SCITTs and Schools Direct) and to teach on and contribute to strategic and/or operational leadership at Masters and PhD level. The postholder may also contribute to knowledge exchange and consultancy activities.

Experience of teaching in higher education preferably at Master’s and Doctoral levels and a good knowledge of a wide range or learning and teaching approaches suited to the learning needs of postgraduate students from a diversity of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with others within a team and work with a diverse range of people, establish rapport and communicate effectively and build research networks.
