Professorship of Paediatric Neuroimaging

Department of Paediatrics in association with St John’s College, Oxford

The Professor of Paediatric Neuroimaging will provide academic leadership for early-life neuroimaging, building capacity and bringing together expertise across the University – for example in developmental and molecular neuroscience, and experimental psychology – with the long-term aspiration of establishing an internationally-recognised Centre in Neonatal Brain Imaging. This appointment forms a key part of the Department’s strategy and a focus for connections with the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, particularly the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging. You will be expected to establish and build on collaborative links with other centres, both nationally and internationally.

You will demonstrate a proven track record as a first class internationally-recognised scientist in the field of paediatric neuroimaging, with evidence of well-cited original publications in high-impact journals, and a proven ability to secure substantial independent research funding. You will create and strengthen links to related disciplines and departments, particularly in neuroscience and neuroimaging, and engage in original research, covering methodology development, fundamental science and clinical trials. You will be expected to provide academic mentorship and leadership for early career researchers, and demonstrate interest and experience in teaching.

Start date: 1 January 2019 or a mutually agreed date.
