Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) has an international reputation for its work in leadership, early years education, and primary education. Our aim is to contribute new ideas and knowledge that have a tangible positive impact on children; teachers/educators; leaders; the academic community; policy makers; and education as discipline.
The main purpose of the job is to contribute to excellent teaching, and leadership of teaching; outstanding research and enterprise; and a full contribution as an academic in the department of leadership and learning, and to the wider IOE and UCL. Aligned with the specific nature of the knowledge and experience of the person appointed they will also be expected to make a strong contribution to one of the departmentís centres.
The post holder will develop an outstanding contribution to a body of knowledge, and an international research profile, will lead on research projects and will have significant and sustained success in obtaining grant funding. In addition to leading on research project bids and collaborations with other researchers in the field of education, the person will make a leading contribution to teaching.

We are particularly interested in outstanding researchers with expertise in either, a) early years and/or primary education, b) language and or literacy education, or ) special educational needs. We are also seeking to further strengthen our expertise in experimental designs and quantitative data analysis methods.
A reputation for research with outputs likely to achieve high REF ratings with evidence of research engagement and impact is essential. You will be a successful in obtaining research grants and able to generate and lead new teaching offers to attract students.
