Competitive on the professorial scale but not less than £69,039 per annum

We are seeking to appoint a leading scholar with an excellent research record, an ability to provide intellectual leadership and a commitment to high-quality teaching. We welcome applications from candidates with research and teaching interests in all fields of Political Science.

The successful candidate will have an established portfolio of high-quality published work and show evidence of an ability to conduct research of international quality in the future and a successful track record of research income.

As well as undertaking his or her own research, the appointee should make a significant contribution to the research culture of the Department. He or she will be expected to contribute the full range of teaching, impact, and enabling within the Department commensurate with their role.

The appointment is available from 1 September 2018 or as soon thereafter as is mutually agreed.

Key Requirements

Candidates must have a PhD in Political Science, a proven ability to undertake academic research that is internationally recognised and of high-quality, a proven track record of publications with major university publishers or leading journals in Political Science, experience of promoting excellence in research-led teaching, experience of providing intellectual leadership and experience of supervising doctoral students and mentoring researchers.
