Southampton Business School is entering an exciting stage of development and has an ambitious quality driven strategy. This will see us strengthen our position as a world-class business school in research, education, innovation and enterprise.

As part of a world-renowned Russell Group University with a global reputation for academic excellence, we offer a stimulating, challenging and dynamic working environment for all our staff. It is an exciting time to join the School, having recently secured AACSB accreditation as well as having AMBA for our MBA, and we are now seeking to recruit an outstanding individual for a key teaching and research position in Strategy and Entrepreneurship, who will help the Department of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (DSIE) play a crucial role in the School achieving its vision.

The Department of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship comprises 14 academics with research and teaching interests in the subject areas of strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Department hosts an interdisciplinary Research Centre for Inclusive and Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation , which undertakes cutting-edge research on socially inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation. The DSIE, which has attracted research funding from UK research councils, EU, NESTA and other external funding bodies, constantly engages with a diverse set of stakeholders, including entrepreneurs, business leaders and policy makers, to empower individuals and organisations to tackle critical contemporary issues that matter to entrepreneurial teams, businesses, society and governments from across the world. The Department offers an inclusive platform for interdisciplinary and impactful research and teaching in the following subject areas: social and sustainable entrepreneurship, social and environmental innovation, corporate social responsibility, family business, SMEs growth and international entrepreneurship, knowledge networks, technology transfers, digital ecosystems, innovation management, business models, strategy process and decision making. Topics, which are underpinned by theories of entrepreneurship, strategy, management and social sciences, are researched in collaboration with other departments/schools, by employing qualitative and/or quantitative methods as appropriate. A vibrant community of international PhD candidates is also fully integrated in the department which provides supervision of doctoral theses and opportunities for further PGR development via the support of a high quality School PhD training programme. The DSIE has a thriving undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) educational portfolio (i.e. MSc Entrepreneurship and Management, MSc Business Strategy and Innovation Management, MBA/Entrepreneurship pathway, UG Business Management/Entrepreneurship & Innovation pathways), which is built on the research strengths and focus of its staff.

The Department of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship would like to hear from applicants with research and teaching interests in any of the above subject areas. The successful candidate will have a PhD with an established track record of research publications coupled with research grant activity.
