Assistant Professor salary: Starting from £39,992, rising to £47,722

Associate Professor salary: Starting from £49,149, rising to £56,950

The Department of Economics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in any area of Economics. Lecturers are equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professors positions and Senior Lecturers are equivalent to tenured Associate Professors.

We invite applications from all fields. Successful candidates at Lecturer level will have demonstrable potential in research and high quality teaching. For appointments at Senior Lecturer level, essential criteria include a strong record in publishing high quality research and successfully attracting research grants, a broad teaching portfolio, as well as the ability to play a leading role in one or more of our five dynamic research groups (see below) and to make active contributions to our specialist research themes (Innovation and Productivity, Governance of Systems and Institutions, Health Economics, and Sustainable Living). All candidates are expected to deliver high quality teaching, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to attract and successfully supervise PhD candidates.

The Department of Economics at the University of Bath promotes a vibrant research environment and a strong collegial culture. We are a growing department of currently 36 full-time academics, with five dynamic research groups in: i) Macroeconomics and Finance ii) Econometrics, iii) Economic Theory, iv) Public and Environmental Economics, and v) Labour/Education/Health Economics. We attract high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students to an extensive range of programmes. Our research activities inform students' learning and encourage the interaction between academia and the wider society both in terms of policy formulation and outcome evaluation and knowledge transfer to businesses and public organisations.
