View All Vacancies Chair in Labour Economics EconomicsProfessorial, minimum £63,836 per annum Closing Date: Monday 26 February 2018 Reference: A1865R The Department of Economics is an independent part of the Lancaster University Management School ( LUMS ), which is the most research-intensive business school in the UK (REF 2014). With over 40 members of faculty from more than 15 countries, the Department has doubled in size over the last 10 years. It provides an international, collegial and dynamic research environment with a commitment to world-class academic excellence. Candidates should have already established an excellent track record in the field of Labour Economics (broadly defined to include education and health economics), including recent publications in internationally recognised journals, success in programme development and curriculum innovation, and experience of administrative duties. The Department has a long history of research in education and labour economics and, in recent years, has developed a strong presence in health economics in conjunction with the Department of Health Research . The successful candidate will be expected to strengthen and complement the activities of the research group on Labour, Education and Health Economics and participate fully in the intellectual life of the Department, to maintain a high quality research agenda that reaches out to external networks of collaborators as well as contributing to research activity within the Department. This will include supervising PhD candidates, participating in externally funded collaborative research projects as well as seeking funding for one’s own projects.
