Nuffield Professorship of Clinical Medicine

Nuffield Department of Medicine in association with Magdalen College, Oxford

The successful candidate will be an outstanding international senior investigator with a proven record of success in a field of medicine relevant to the Nuffield Department of Medicine’s activity, and proven experience in a senior academic leadership position. Applicants with a translational research programme with real prospects of impacting on patient care are particularly encouraged.

This post is available as either a clinical or non-clinical position. If appointed to a clinical post the professor must be clinically qualified and will hold an honorary consultant contract with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will be a Fellow of Magdalen College.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a first-class internationally-recognised researcher with evidence of well-cited original publications in high-impact journals and will have secured substantial independent research funding. They will have the potential to develop productive interactions with other scientists within a clinical and basic science context that illustrate a commitment to improving human health, and will have demonstrable experience and interest in teaching, as well as interests that are synergistic with the existing strengths of the department and the College.
