Research Assistant to the Director of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research (Part Time, Fixed Term)

The postholder will complete the study, analysis and publication of all the lithic material (chipped- and ground-stone) collected through fieldwork of the Kythera Island Project, under the guidance of the McDonald Institute Director and Disney Professor, Professor Cyprian Broodbank, and in consultation with other relevant members of the Project. This material has already been fully recorded, entered on a database and extensively illustrated. The postholder will collate the data, analyse it chronologically, spatially, culturally and contextually, and present the results in a substantial article, of which she or he will be the lead author. The postholder will also prepare the data for open access. The start date is negotiable within the month of September 2017 and will run for 8 months at 50% time.

Required: - PhD in lithic analysis of Aegean Holocene assemblages - Detailed expertise in southern Neolithic and Bronze Age Aegean archaeology - Familiarity with Access databases - Excellent writing skills in English
