CMRS Career Development Fellowship in Renaissance History

Keble College, Oxford University, wishes to appoint a Career Development Fellow in Renaissance History, tenable from 1 October 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. This career development post is a full-time, fixed-term four year position, supported by funding from the independent Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Oxford. The college is seeking to employ an outstanding early career historian working on any aspect of the period 1400-1700, with a preference for someone whose research interests cross, and can link, disciplines within the general field of Renaissance Studies.

The successful applicant will have a doctorate in a relevant subject and show the potential to use the period of the fellowship to develop an international research profile. She or he will be required to offer up to four hours tutorial teaching per week for the college and/or the centre and will therefore show evidence of ability to teach undergraduate students at the highest level. Career Development Fellows are expected to participate fully in the administration, admissions, and similar duties, of their subject. The appointee will have a key role in facilitating interdisciplinary activities and links within the Medieval and Renaissance Studies cluster of Keble’s Advanced Studies Centre. The fellow will work at Keble College and be entitled to use of a teaching room.

The stipend of the fellow will be on the University’s academic-related staff scale Grade 6, currently from 27,629 to 32,958 p.a., with a further discretionary range of 33,943 to 36,001. The fellow will be entitled to free lunch and dinner at common table when the college kitchens are open. A research support allowance of 1,315 and a student entertainment allowance of 465 are also available.

Further particulars are available on the Keble College website, ?" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> , or from Mrs Trish Long, the Warden’s Personal Assistant, Keble College, Oxford OX1 3PG (trish.long [at] keble[.]ox[.] The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 18 May 2017.
