Sussex Paralympian aiming to repeat double gold

David Stone MBE , a University of Sussex Social Work and Social Care graduate, will be competing in the Paralympics road cycling.

David will be competing in the Mixed’T 1-2 Time Trial on 5 September and Mixed’T 1-2 Road Race on 8 September. He won gold in both events in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.

As a student, David received a Sussex sports bursary, which gave him a training fund, access to sports facilities on campus free of charge and dedicated support from sports staff.

Richard Mashiter, Students’ Union Activities Officer, said: "We’ll all be cheering David on and hoping he can repeat his double gold medal feat. It is great to see a Sussex alumnus competing at such a high level."
