Running in Brighton for Bhopal

Seventeen students and staff completed the Brighton Marathon on Sunday (15 April) to raise funds for the Bhopal Medical Appeal, a Brighton-based charity that supports two free clinics for survivors of the 1984 Bhopal gas disaster.

Jackie Rymell from Human Resources has run the Brighton Marathon every year since it started in 2010. She says: “It really was a great team - bringing together staff, postgraduate students and undergraduates from across the University.

“It was a fantastic achievement by all, but especially the students who were running their first ever marathon, and finished with excellent times.

“All credit should go to Andrew Chitty for getting the team together and organising the training runs, advice and guidance over the last eight months or so.”

The funds raised by the team now stand at just under £5,000, which they are hoping to increase with some post-marathon donations. You can give online.
