Centre for International Education hosts a research roundtable with senior educators from Rwanda and Nigeria.
Members of the Centre fro International Education (CIE) held a roundtable discussion on current research agendas with Salihu Bakari, Executive Chair of the Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Nigeria and John Rutaisire, Director General, Rwandan Education Board on15 May.
Bakari highlighted general educational concerns in Nigeria as well as specific concerns in Adamawa State and Northern Nigeria. Dijatu Balla, Director of Junior Secondary Education in Adamawa State also contributed to the discussion.
John Rutaisire presented key research priorities for Rwanda and reflected insights provided by Charles Gahima, Principal of Rwanda Teachers’ College (not pictured).
Key issues included educational quality, equality and the reciprocal influence of the social, economic and political context on education service provision and uptake.
